Back then, it was just a friend group of young, enthusiastic students who came to know the condition of marginalised children during their college days and started an initiative to improve their situation. Hearing about our initiative, our beloved Nitu Mukherjee stood by us. With his support journey of our NGO, we began in 2016. So for his unforgettable support, we named this organisation Nitu Mukherjee Foundation after him.
Since 2017, Nitu Mukherjee Foundation has been distributing books to economically backwards meritorious students every academic year.
In 2017 we gave books to 17 students. 2023 the number of students becomes 175.

Initially, we started our NGO to spread quality education among all students. We arrange several book distribution, educational supplies, food distribution programmes, and career orientation seminars, and we provide scholarships to needy students. As the time demands, we also arrange several relief and free medical camps in rural areas. We also start working on environmental projects in recent years.
We want to reach more students to help them to reach their dream. We have plans to plant plenty of trees and arrange more environmental and social awareness camps in near future.
