Nitu Mukherjee Foundation is a student-led initiative that began with a group of passionate college students aiming to support marginalized children. Over time, it has grown into a vibrant community of over 100 active student members, supported by dedicated alumni, 30+ volunteers, and a network of generous donors. The foundation conducts annual book distribution drives, provides year-round educational support through Shiksha Sanjeevanee, and organizes board exam prep, mock tests, and career awareness camps. It also contributes to Project Hattimatim Tim, creating open-source educational resources like books, toys, puzzles, and teaching guides.

A dedicated focus on learning & skill development defines NMF. Our goal is to promote fun, natural & self-paced learning, academic guidance & making our youngsters realize their potential.

Humanitarian

Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries,” said Dalai. Here at NMF, we live by the principle of unconditional service to our community via relief camps, health clinics, etc.

Educational and humanitarian pursuits are in vain on an uninhabitable Earth. Our objective is to take active initiatives and foster environmental awareness in the community.

What's new

Team NMF kick-started the year-long trademark event, called Shiksha Sanjeevanee, under which we aim at reaching out to those socially underprivileged via quality education while fostering the joy of learning! Under the SS project, students can access the NMF "library" for a year and use the text-books.

Additionally, NMF's annual day cum book distribution ceremony commenced on February 9, 2025. Children along with us participated in cracking a "history mystery", painting their heart out, drawing comics and creating stories, science demonstrations, and many more events!

Recent Event

NMF carried out a 5 day-long career awareness camp with local students studying in grade 7, 8 and 9. The focus was strongly on hands-on exploration, focal group activities and discussions and having fun - a lot of it! A brief report will be made available soon.
